You didn’t need to see the byline to know that the journalist who wrote the article excerpted above is unfamiliar with Minnesota.
That’s because locals know that, while there is “Northern Minnesota” and “Southern Minnesota,” and even “Southwestern Minnesota” and “Southeastern Minnesota,” there’s no such thing as “Eastern Minnesota” . . .
Unless, of course, the writer was referring to Wisconsin . . .
