Maybe Trump WASN’T Lying When He Said, “I Alone Can Fix It”

It Depends on What the Definition of “It” Is (and also “Fix”)

When Candidate Donald Trump famously claimed in 2016 that “I alone can fix it” . . . maybe he was actually telling the truth.

That is, if by “fix,” he meant “rig,” and if by “it,” he meant that Fall’s Presidential election (and perhaps, this year’s**).

Clearly, Mr. Trump didn’t mean the other kind of “fix” — like, what a competent leader does to control a pandemic ravaging the populace and cratering the economy.

Or “fix” as in, “safeguard the nation’s democracy from foreign interference and domestic vote suppression.”

“Russia, Russia, Russia”

At the very least, it’s clear that Trump encouraged and benefited from the concerted actions of WikiLeaks, Vladimir Putin, and the Russians in 2016.

At the very most?

Put it this way: I don’t know if Donald Trump colluded with the Russians, but I’m pretty sure dirty trickster and convicted felon Roger Stone did.

I’m sure we’ll finally learn everything when Stone’s tell-all book comes out later this . . . oops!

Never mind . . . 

**As the now-incumbent President sworn to defend the Constitution, surely Trump wouldn’t threaten to disavow the results of the 2020 election if he lost, would he?

“We’ll have to see,” he told Fox News’ Chris Wallace. “We’ll have to see.”

“What’s the Highest Point in Hennepin County?”

There sure seems to be some confusion on that, umm . . . point. I’ve now encountered at least three different properties — none close to one another — that all claimed that status in just the last month. For the record, according to Hennepin County’s website, it’s on Williston Road near High Point Road in Minnetonka — 1,131 feet above sea level. “Are You a Realtor?” “Why, Yes I Am!”

“There Goes My Realtor!” Admittedly, the intended effect is for clients who see me in and around the neighborhood where I live (by Cedar Lake in Minneapolis) to see my car on the road and say, “There Goes My Realtor!” But, my custom license plate (above) is also a conversation-starter when I’m parked. Like today, in Linden Hills, where a builder who has an upcoming listing saw my car and asked if I was a Realtor.
