Minneapolis Ranks #4 on Niche’s “2017 Best Cities for Millennials”

Ok, so Minneapolis actually ranked #5 on Niche’s list.

But, that’s only because Arlington and Alexandria, two adjacent suburbs of Washington, D.C., landed in spots #1 and #4.

That puts Minneapolis ahead of such trendy cities as Seattle (#6), Austin (#11), and Denver (#13).

Here’s what Niche liked about Minneapolis:

“Minneapolis is a wonderful city with year-round festivities, celebrations and fun for all ages and interests. Rich in the arts, Minneapolis boasts several art museums, including a sprawling outdoor sculpture garden which is home to the famous Cherry and Spoon fountain. Another feature unique to Minneapolis is its elaborate skyway system. These 2nd floor glass walkways pass over the city streets, connecting almost all of the buildings in downtown Minneapolis. With hundreds of shops, restaurants and businesses connected to the skyway system, one can enjoy even the coldest of Minnesota days without ever setting a foot outside!”

“What’s the Highest Point in Hennepin County?”

There sure seems to be some confusion on that, umm . . . point. I’ve now encountered at least three different properties — none close to one another — that all claimed that status in just the last month. For the record, according to Hennepin County’s website, it’s on Williston Road near High Point Road in Minnetonka — 1,131 feet above sea level. “Are You a Realtor?” “Why, Yes I Am!”

“There Goes My Realtor!” Admittedly, the intended effect is for clients who see me in and around the neighborhood where I live (by Cedar Lake in Minneapolis) to see my car on the road and say, “There Goes My Realtor!” But, my custom license plate (above) is also a conversation-starter when I’m parked. Like today, in Linden Hills, where a builder who has an upcoming listing saw my car and asked if I was a Realtor.
